The site answers this directly, which is rarer than it should be. Its FAQ asks “Does it bypass Turnitin AI detection?” and answers “Yes.” The homepage sells “Bypasses every major detector”.
Then it publishes the supporting number twice, and gets a different answer each time.
One blog page reports Turnitin at 94%. Another reports 95%. The other three detectors disagree between the two pages as well — Copyleaks swings from 97% to 93%, a four-point gap in the opposite direction.
Neither page carries a sample size, a corpus, a model or a test date. This page reports no first-party test; everything below was fetched on 31 August 2026.
Why can nobody check either figure?
Because of how Turnitin is sold, which is worth stating precisely since it applies to every claim in this market.

Turnitin’s help centre states it “does not sell individual licenses or single-use subscriptions”, and that “AI writing detection reports are not visible to students”. So the disagreement between 94% and 95% is not the deepest problem with those figures. The deeper problem is that neither could have been measured through any route the vendor is entitled to use.
There is also a falsification test any reader can apply. Turnitin’s documentation says “no score or highlights are attributed for AI detection scores in the 1% to 19% range” — below 20% it shows an asterisk and no number at all. Any screenshot anywhere showing a specific Turnitin AI figure of 3% or 12% is not a genuine current report.
What counts as proof on this site?
Nothing does. There are no detector screenshots anywhere. The only relevant images are six greyscale detector logos rendered at 40% opacity — Turnitin, Copyleaks, ZeroGPT, QuillBot, Grammarly, GPTZero. All six files load. None is evidence of anything.
The homepage is stranger still. Its headline statistics ship in the delivered HTML as “0+ Happy Users”, “0% Success Rate” and “0 Detectors Supported”, animated client-side with no server-rendered value behind them. There is no published success rate in the page source at all. The “AI DETECTED (94%)” panel beside them is hardcoded HTML inside a mock interface — a drawing of a detector, not a capture of one.

What do the Terms actually cover?
Not detection. The Terms of Service disclaimer is generic: services are provided “AS IS”, use is “at your sole risk”, and the vendor does not warrant that content will be accurate or complete. It never mentions AI detectors.
That is the finding, and it is subtler than a flat contradiction. The marketing makes a specific product promise — Turnitin, by name, yes — while the contract retreats to a general shield that does not address it. There is no clause saying detection outcomes are not guaranteed, because there is no clause about detection at all.
On refunds the Terms are blunt: “All purchases made through our Services are non-refundable… Refund of credits or payments will not be provided under any circumstances”, plus an explicit statement that you “waive your right to the standard 14-day withdrawal period.” Cancel and you “lose any remaining usage credits or allotted usage immediately” — while the FAQ promises you keep access to the end of the billing period.
What can be checked on Turnitin’s side?
Very little, and that cuts against confident claims in both directions. Turnitin shipped paraphrasing detection in July 2024 and dedicated bypasser detection in August 2025, and has published no accuracy figure for either since. It has never published an overall accuracy percentage at all. On 4 August 2026 it merged the AI-paraphrased highlight into AI-generated, so instructors can no longer see how much of a flag came from bypasser detection.
Independently, Hadra, Cambridge and Mesbah (February 2026, 192 texts) measured Turnitin at 0.61 overall accuracy and 0.51 recall, performing poorly on hybrid human-and-AI text. Weber-Wulff et al. (2023) put field-wide accuracy on machine-paraphrased text at 26%, with Turnitin the best of 14 tools tested.
What should you take from this?
A yes with two different numbers behind it, no method, no screenshot, and evidence pages dated before the company existed is not a claim you can act on. The honest answer to the title question is that nobody has tested it and nobody outside an institution can.
Turnitin’s own guidance says its model “may misidentify human-written, AI-generated, and AI-paraphrased text, so it should not be used as the sole basis for adverse actions against a student”, and four universities — Vanderbilt, Waterloo, Curtin and Washington State — have disabled it with documented reasons. The detector is unreliable in both directions, and Text Polish offers no refund if you find that out the hard way.
If your real worry is being wrongly flagged on your own writing, keep your drafting history — it costs nothing and it survives a detector being wrong. It matters most for the writers detectors treat worst: ESL writers and AI detection and false positives for neurodivergent students.
