What the Responsible Use page says
Verbatim: “100% Algorithmic Humanization is a Myth. While our technology is advanced, no AI can perfectly replicate the depth of human experience 100% of the time. AI models are probabilistic, not flawless.”
That is the vendor arguing against its own headline. And the Refund Policy closes the loop by putting the outcome beyond remedy: “All payments are final”, and “Refunds for dissatisfaction with output quality (e.g., detector scores, plagiarism results, or writing style) are not guaranteed.”
There is no 7-day, 14-day or 30-day window anywhere. The default is no refund, and the one thing you might complain about is named as excluded.
Meanwhile the partner page sells guaranteed Turnitin bypass for “BSc papers, Masters theses, PhD dissertations.” A dissertation is a rigorous academic submission by any reading.
Where is the Turnitin evidence?
We enumerated every image reference across all 18 pages and fetched each file. There is not a single screenshot of a detector result page anywhere on the site.
The Turnitin “proof” is icons8-turnitin-48.png — a 659-byte, 48-pixel icon-pack file. The rest of the inventory is four testimonial avatars with no names, titles or review text attached, on a site claiming “4.8/5.0 based on 800+ Feedbacks”.
Every number — 99.95%, 0% AI, 100% Human, and all six competitor bars — is rendered as HTML text and CSS divs, not captured output.
There is a Methodology link in the footer. It is a button with no destination, and /methodology returns a 404 and does not appear in the sitemap. The entire methodological disclosure on the site is one footnote: “Tested across GPTZero, Turnitin, Originality.ai, and Copyleaks detection platforms • Jul 2026.” A detector list and a month.
Why is a Turnitin number unobtainable in the first place?
Turnitin’s help centre states it “does not sell individual licenses or single-use subscriptions”; services go to institutions only. Inside a licensed institution, “AI writing detection reports are not visible to students” — an instructor must download the report and share it manually. Draft Coach, the only student-facing Turnitin product, has no AI detection.
So there is no route by which RewriteIQ could have tested against Turnitin to produce its footnote, and no route by which a reader could reproduce it.
A falsification test readers can apply elsewhere: Turnitin’s documentation says “no score or highlights are attributed for AI detection scores in the 1% to 19% range” — below 20% it shows an asterisk and no number. RewriteIQ’s advertised outcome is “0% AI Detected”. Zero is a value Turnitin does render, so that claim is display-legal — it simply has no evidence and no obtainable route behind it.
What else does not hold?
The privacy promise. The partner page sells “Complete Anonymity. Zero-knowledge processing. Your content is never stored or logged”, and the bypass-Turnitin page repeats “We never store your data.”
The Privacy Policy, section 2.2: “We collect the content you input into our Service (‘Input’) and the content generated by the Service (‘Output’).” Section 5: “users cannot manually delete their usage history (Inputs and Outputs) from our systems.”
That is a zero-knowledge promise sold to people buying discretion, refuted by the operator’s own policy — and there is no operator to hold to it. Across all 18 pages there is no legal entity, no jurisdiction, no registration number, no address and no governing-law clause of any kind. The Terms contain no choice of law, no venue and no arbitration clause. The /about page returns a 404. The domain was registered on 12 November 2025 for a single year, and the blog is three weeks old with its WordPress theme demo pages still live.
What can be checked on Turnitin’s side?
Very little. Turnitin shipped paraphrasing detection in July 2024 and dedicated bypasser detection in August 2025, publishing no accuracy figure for either since. On 4 August 2026 it merged the AI-paraphrased highlight into AI-generated, removing the last signal instructors had.
Independently, Hadra, Cambridge and Mesbah (February 2026, 192 texts) measured Turnitin at 0.61 overall accuracy and 0.51 recall, performing poorly on hybrid text. Weber-Wulff et al. (2023) put field-wide accuracy on machine-paraphrased text at 26%, Turnitin best of 14 tested.
What should you take from this?
RewriteIQ’s most useful document is its own Responsible Use page, which says a 100% result is a myth. Its second most useful is the Refund Policy, which says detector scores are not a complaint it will act on. Read together with the “Yes” on the bypass-Turnitin page, this is a product whose strongest claim is disclaimed by its own publisher on pages dated the same day.
Turnitin’s own guidance says its model “may misidentify human-written, AI-generated, and AI-paraphrased text, so it should not be used as the sole basis for adverse actions against a student”, and four universities have disabled it — Vanderbilt, Waterloo, Curtin and Washington State. The detector is unreliable in both directions, which is an argument against betting a dissertation on either side of it.
If your real worry is being wrongly flagged on your own writing, keep your drafting history — it costs nothing and it survives a detector being wrong. It matters most for the writers detectors treat worst: ESL writers and AI detection and false positives for neurodivergent students.
